Suddenly, the unexpected happens: a technical glitch. What now? Instead of panicking and letting all of your hard work go down the drain, you can keep your cool by being prepared and knowing how to troubleshoot for the issue.

Troubleshooting a Digital ProjectorIf you will be using a digital projector as a part of your display, part of your trade show planning should involve learning how to correct common errors. Here's a quick guide:
- No Power - The first thing you should do is to ensure that the power cord is fully inserted into the power cord socket and/or the electrical outlet. You can also attempt to toggle the power switch to position "1". When all else fails, turn off the projector, wait two minutes, and attempt to re-start.
- No Picture - Take a minute to check for the correct input source and to ensure that all cables are properly connected. Be sure to also check that the lens cap is removed and to adjust the brightness or contrast to see if that is the issue.
- Blurred Image - Try adjusting the focus, or adjusting the position of the digital projector in order to approve its angle of projection. Make sure that you also double check that the distance between the unit and the screen is within the lens's adjustment range.
- Non-responsive Remote - First, attempt replacing the batteries. If this doesn't solve the issue, be sure that there are no obstacles blocking the remote signal from reaching the projector. Lastly, try standing within 6 meters (19.5 ft.) of the unit.
Troubleshooting a PrinterIt can be embarrassing to experience printer failure when trying to print information for a potential client, so it's smart to have a few tricks up your sleeve for problems.
- Printer falsely IDs an empty cartridge - If you know that the cartridge is not empty but the printer fails to operate, simply try removing the cartridge, give it a shake and re-insert it. If the cartridge is good, the printer should be good to go after that.
- Slow wireless printing - Although it's less convenient, a wired printer connection will work faster and be more reliable. In your trade show planning, it's smart to decide to pack an ethernet cable - just in case.
Troubleshooting an LCD ScreenAlthough trouble with an LCD screen is less-likely than the others, it's still smart to be prepared.
- Stuck Pixels - Try to apply pressure to the "stuck" area as you turn the display on or off. This can sometimes help to stimulate the electronics to work properly.
- Display Failure - Sometimes an LCD display will fail to respond due to improper communication between your computer and the display. Because of this, its smart to consider bringing a "backup" computer or laptop when in the phases of trade show planning to ensure that if one device is having problems, you will not be out of luck.
